Floor Savers

Has anyone used those slide protectors over their floor. I forget what they are called but essentially these are pieces of ABS about 6" wide by about 40". They might be 1/8" thick at the most and you lay them on the floor to protect the lino or carpet when the slides come in
Anyway I bought some as my lino is taking a beating from the slide (carpet is really stretching as well). I can't seem to get the slide to ride up on them. The slide pushes them out of the way. If I have someone stand on them it justs bends the floor saver up. Is there some trick to this that I don't know?

Called 2 large RV dealers to get appointment for slide adjustment. Both indicate that they will not work on units they didn't sell. I asked what people from out of town do. They said as far as they are aware all dealers are that way....boy talk about a local industy not reponsive to potential customers. As I really don't want to let my selling dealer near my rig, I dug out the Lippert manual. From what I see the vertical adjustment looks simple but it also looks like it only moves the outside face of the slide.
Wouldn't I need to adjust the height on the inside of the slide?? Sorry for the dumb questions but I'm a newbie.

I would call Kent at DT and explain your situation. He may be able to exert some pressure on the dealers or give you instruction on the adjustment. I know on my 38 there are adjustments on the rollers under the kitchen slide and also adjustments outside on the arms. I have not looked at the other side, but I know it should not drag on your carpet.

They consist of a vinyl sleeve with a reinforced rounded felt bottom. Simply slide on the floor saver over a square or round chair, or table legs to prevent floor damage and reduce noise associated with moving furniture.

Actually Maxy, this is not an item found at Home Depot for furniture feet.
This is for an RV to protect the floors when slides are retracted. Such as below.

When an RV tech came to address the issue of my roller breaking and the slide digging into my kitchen floor, he adjusted the inside height between the floor and bottom of the slide at the adjustment points outside under the slide. He loosened the bolts and adjusted the verticle bolts at the end of the rams. This increased the space between the slide and the floor. Keep in mind that modify the adjustment to much may effect the operation and sealing effectivness of the slide.
