Dometic 13 cu ft 4 dr not dependable

After over 2 months full time our frig has become undependable. Freezer stay 0 but frig quits. Elec does not cool, was up to 51.
Put on LP and came down to 36 but then it cut but then it cut off. Had full 40 lb 12 hrs ago.
Can i replace with residential? Online 110 & LP unit priced at $5,176....too much.....

Larry, I believe you are on the right track. That fridge was probably built 13 years ago and is just on its last leg. A nice Frigidaire, GE, Samsung (insert your favorite brand here) would serve you much better. And NOT dual power.

Fridge Solutions

I had a similar problem. Something you may want to consider if your basic refrigerator "box" is in good shape, is to contact
JC Refrigeration LLC / DutchAire Hvac LLC in Shipshewana, IN 46565
(260) 768-4067

They can replace the "guts" of your 2-way system and maintain both propane and electrical service or provide the parts to convert it to either 120V or 12V compressor type system. Any of these approaches for about 25% of a new 2-way fridge If you visit their website, I think you will be amazed at what you can do. The company has amazing positive comments.

With regards to replacing an RV-style fridge with a residential, it might be possible, but with most RV's, it would require "modifying" the space where the fridge currently sits. We replaced our RV-style way back in 2012 after it gave out after only 2 years.

In modifying our space, we lost a little bit of storage space, but that has never been missed. However, our RV is a 2010 DRV Suites Mobile Suites fifth wheel that is 38 1/2-feet long. I followed the experiences of some other DRV Suites owners and bought an 18 cubic foot Samsung.

Thanks Terry n Jo for input and experience
With the heavy rain we had wet carpet at rear window of curb slide and both rear corner of 5er at each end of sofa so all other issues are back burnered for now
