Slide Out Maintenance

Question for you all:

To grease slide out gears and cable.

Do you all grease, silicone or leave dry to decrease dust and dirt build up? Thoughts?

My bedroom slides are electric gear/cable driven. I don’t lubricate those at all. The big slides are hydraulic. I spray silicone slide lubricant on the gear rail every time I close up. I also wipe down the ram occasionally with a clean dry rag.

Slide Maintenance

I have a Keystone Cougar 5th wheel with 3 slides
I periodically use silicone on the cables - definately not grease

I have used spray silicone on the gears for years. It seems to work fine.
