Washer and dryer vent?

Bought a 2006 King of the Road and it has a space for a stackable washer and dryer. If I remember the door/opening measures 24". It has electrical outlets and a drain for the washer. The problem, is I see no vent for the dryer. I hate cutting a hole in the trailer wall or floor and wondering what most people do?

I read in an earlier post, it seems most prefer a separate washer dryer vs the combined unit. Is there a preference for certain brand? Someone said they loved Whirlpool! I notice so many small units on Amazon. Some fairly cheap out of China, but yet have descent ratings. Just wondering what most people use.

First of all, be sure that you are looking at 120volt dryers, not the 240volt ones--the choices are limited. You will also need to be sure they are maximum 24" wide, otherwise, no fit.
Whirlpool seems to be the most used and remarked upon--we had them in our old Suites for 10 years and they never faltered. Our newer Suites has the Splendide models and my wife would kill to get the Whirlpool ones back--enough so, she is wanting to sell the 2 year old Spendides and get the Whirlpools.
The model numbers in Whirlpool you are looking for:
Washer--WFC7500VW2
Dryer--LDR3822PQ2

These are the stackable single units--most people I have talked to prefer the singles over the combos, but the opinions lean both ways.

Where did you buy the Whirlpools? Remember the cost? I know about the 120, but thank you!!

Why does she prefer the Whirlpools over what she has now?

The Whirlpools may be available on Amazon, or with the numbers, any appliance store can order them in. HD/Lowes/BestBuy will have access to them.

As to preferring them over Splendide--this is one of the mysteries of marriage that I do not ask questions about...

Don't remember the cost, but should be lower than the Splendides...'course, you could always check in at a close RV dealer and see what they will charge for either brand + installation.

Then all you do is make sure they are 24" or less in width, and 120 volt?

How does your dryer vent?? Through the wall, through the floor? I hate to cut a hole!!

I would double-check your clearances, but yes, they don't come any narrower than 22-24 and all of the trailers I have been in are set up for this size, not any larger. A KR may be different, it was a great trailer in its time.
You are going to have to vent the dryer somewhere--wall or floor are the choices, and a hole is necessary. Again, all the trailers I have seen have the vent exiting directly behind the dryer vent line into/thru the wall--this is simple and direct, leaving no bends to collect lint and clog up. Vent kits are available at RV stores. You drill the hole with a hole saw, after doing your darndest to make sure there ain't no wires or studs where you are going to put the hole. Measure 10 times, then once again, before drilling....
There ought to be a KR owners forum somewhere on the net, maybe even on this forum-haven't thought to check. Google for that, may be someone with a pic to help you out.

Luckily, the company that made the trailer, while not making them anymore, still is very helpful. A secretary has sent me all kinds of information and blueprints! Was a hell of a help with the slides. I have two huge rail gear slides and two on top that are cable pull. I pray I'll never have to repair them.

One problem is the seals. I notice two are torn and they look like glue ons. I'll have to tackle them next after I find material that works.
