What truck do I need?

Just bought a 41' fifth wheel. Dry weight says 12,000lbs. Any advice on what is best to pull it with would be appreciated.

What is the gross weight listed? That is the best one to work off of. Pin weight will max at about 20-22% of the gross.
You prob have about 15500 gross and thats about 31-3200 pin weight. You need a truck that will handle setting 3200lbs on the rear axle.
Diesel or gas, I lean toward diesel. Any of the big 3 are good trucks, you just need to make sure you can put that 3200 lbs on it without going over the axle, or worse, the tire ratings. For sure, if you have to settle for a single-rear-wheel truck, it better be a 350/3500 rating.

After 20k miles pulling our 20K fiver, we have had no issues with our Ford F-350 DRW diesel. Just make sure you have the right rear gear ratio. Trailer Life mag. Publishes a great guide to trucks and towing capacity.

Yes, it should do fine, just need to know what the pin weight loaded to travel would be, and the rear axle rating of the truck.
Just be sure you never go over the capacity of the rear tires with the weight on the rear axle.

The rear end gear ratio on my truck is 3:55. But I'm not sure what you mean about the pin weight where do I find that information at.
