HBC (Hydraulic Break Controller)

This is a 2012 GMC-2010 Mobile Suites question. Do I need an aftermarket HBC to interface with the 2012 GMC brake control. I think the GMC 2011 is yes, but I cannot locate info on the 2012.

Also, I've connected the (stationary) RV electrical cable to the GMC. I did not get any errors and the GM control seemed to operate and adjust without error. I have not moved the RV yet to actually test the brakes.

Does anyone have the answer ?

How can I tell I need an aftermarket HBC ??

I am not a GM guy to help on this, but seems to me you should go ahead and hitch up, connect the wiring harness and try to move the units with the brakes applied thru the brake pedal. This won't hurt anything and the truck itself will stop the trailer if the brakes aren't working.

I can confirm that the 2011s do, not sure on your 2012. But my understanding was that you may get erradic brake operation
