Hitch advise

We're looking into the the purchase of a 2011 Stoneridge 38RS. Our tow vehicle is a 2010 F250 KR Crew Cab 6.4 TD.
The RV dealer is recommending a Reese 15K Pro for our set-up. We've never owned a 5th wheel and want to be sure this is enough hitch. The trailer weight is 11340 lbs empty. This model 5th wheel promotes that it can be towed with a 3/4 ton, so Im assuming we have enough truck.

Please help us us.

Thanks!

Never consider the Dry wt, because it will be a rare that it will be towed unloaded except when you take delivery or sell it. Use the GVWR when calculating hitch capacity. And if you add the optional Island, it will increase the weight up front.

KZ states the GVWR is 14,000 lbs. Within the range of a 15k hitch when 5er is maxed out.

We have a Reese 22k in our 2010 F450 to carry our 20k GVWR Suite. Would have gone with more, but Reese doesn't always have the right size.

On Edit: They have some really interesting floorplans.

if you are still looking on where to purchase one try to look on ebay or jcw. they have a very cheap price for that part.

Ditto what Vickie and Bob said. Go with the Reese 22k. I have one and love it.
