1: Would like to attempt to repair 8 inch by 1/8 inch crack down one side by corner of tank. I have a can of FLEX SEAL liquid. Plan to clean, wire brush and put on a couple of layers. Any experience in using this product on Black ABS tank?

2: Replacement tank priced at almost $700 with 4 1/2 hours shop labor...OUCH! Does that sound average if I have replaced?
Thanks

About $1000 has been the usual cost on other forums. 8 inches is one long crack to try to fix. You will need to drill a half inch hole at the start of both ends of the crack to stop the spread.

Also, despite the TV ads, I don't think FlexSeal has much chance of sealing it. Try a 2-part plastic epoxy, or plastic welding...There are kits available for this type repair, success probably depends on how much care you take in prepartion and application.
Good luck, let us know if you opt to DIY.
And, welcome to the forum.

Suggest you look up "Plasti - mend" - I've used it successfully several times. Includes fiberglass mesh and premixed ABS Glue/Slurry. Designed for RV Black Tank repairs.
