My 2011 50 amp surge guard gave up today . Model is a TRC 41250.
Any ideas of what brand to replace it with?
It will operate the generator but no 50 amp shore power. 30 amp works fine, as it should.

I take it this is hard wired in your RV? I had one that was hard-wired up until until I sold that RV. The next time I bought a portable Progressive Industries PT50 and have been using it for the last 10 years with two different RV's. Plus, if it were to go out, you can just bypass it until you get it repaired or replaced. It is an EMS and not just a surge protector. They do have a hard-wired version too. HW50x.

Why not replace it with a Surge Guard again? I had one in a 2007 used until replaced RV and installed in 2016 RV and still working when that RV was replaced. Using one again now…….

Sorry I thought I had updated this post.
I had the RV park we were at check the 50 amps circuit. They said there was no problem. Found a RV dealer in the area that got me a new one next day. I installed it, same problem. Told my wife it has to be their 50 amp circuit. We used the 30 amp overnight and left as planned the next day.
Next stop we plugged into the 50 amp no problem. So that was $500+ I wasted.
If you know someone looking for a good used surge guard send them my way.
I have a used one that I can guarantee works.

We have encountered bad electrical supply pedestals at a couple of different RV parks in the past. Most recently, I kept trying to tell them that the circuit breaker needed to be replaced - but they insisted it was MY PROBLEM. They tested with a circuit tester and got a good reading, but that was without any type of load. Eventually we ran our power cord to the RV spot adjacent to ours and guess what...it worked flawlessly.

Finally - after 2 hours in the Texas heat and having to leave the motor and A/C running on the truck for the dogs and my wife - they conceded and changed out the circuit breaker. After that, we had zero problems. I don't know why they were so insistent that it was my problem and wasted so much time.

Yes when they tested our pedestal they only used a volt meter. I was able to run both A/C units on the 30 amp circuit. Just made sure they didn't start at the same time.
