For those that are using StarLink... a couple questions:
They have 2 choices for those that are full time RVers... ROAM and MINI.
If you have experience with StarLink can you explain the difference between ROAM and MINI.
Does StarLink work in the western states?
Does your phone hook up to the internet to make calls when using StarLink?

I have similar questions; replying to bump the thread. Fingers crossed…

I have a mini for my rv and the standard Roam plan at home. Starlink works well. Their plans change periodically, so I suggest reading at the website.

The Mini has a nice base plan with 50 gigs of data included which is great for a few days. You can opt in for data overages to be billed at their rack rate. You might spend as much as the home plan per month if you use a lot of data.

The Mini plan allows you to suspend service during months you are not using it which is a great feature for seasonal rvers.

Actually all plans can be "paused". We use the roam plan and love it! We are fulltimers and Starlink has never failed us. It is expensive compared to other plans, but well worth it when other options don't work. If we're going to be in one spot for an extended time we will pause Starlink and use T-Mobile "home" internet which is a fraction of the cost and functions well, where there is TMobile cell service. It works all around the world. If you want to mount on your vehicle or 5th wheel it will even work going down the road! You need to power-up the router, so need an inverter inside...I use the plug-in in my truck.

To answer your question "do you connect your phone and make calls?" You connect, like you would any wifi service and use "wifi calling", just enable "wifi calling on your phone." For Apple: Settings>Cellular>wifi calling.

Hope that helps!
