Received a few requests for this
Best to attempt repair BEFORE string breaks
Fuse the old string to the new string - just melt both ends with a candle
Be careful - the nylon is quite hot - thin gloves a good idea
Make sure the "joint" is solid - give it a few tugs
Make sure the "lump" that forms the joint is rolled as smooth as possible - that's why you wear gloves

Someone posted about junk, and junk these day/nite pleated shades were. After 18 restring jobs, with only 12 shades, we elected to "junk" the junk and upgraded to MCD roller blinds. Works with all Cedar Creek installed window coverings too! The difference is night & day, a quality product that we look forward to using for many years to come.

Travel safe & enjoy your journeys!

Thanks for the tip on what you changed your blinds to. It's great to have feedback like that!

We have had the day/nights since getting the trailer used in '07 and my wife has restrung every shade at least once. MCD shades are certainly a super upgrade, but we can't get over the initial price shock. And the plant is only about 80 miles from our home...
