Parked for a year or more on new tires

I have had 2 tire failures in the last 2 months and bought a complete set of new tires including spare. Been chasing shutdowns and moving a lot but decided on a new construction job that will last around 18 months. So what should I do to protect these new tires? I'm on concrete.

There are many theories about this--I think best is to place wood/plastic between tires and surface. Keep them aired fully--do not let them deflate and bulge out sidewalls. I guess a case could be made for getting all the trailer weight off the tires for such a length of time, by using jackstands under the frame rails.

Your best option is fairly simple. Do not let them sit on the same spot all the time. Take the RV out and move it a few miles once a month to get the tires some "exercise". That will stop the deterioration from sitting in one spot and causing stress to set in one place on each tire. It also moves the internal oils in the rubber so one spot does not dry out. A secondary effect is to make the grease in the bearings move and maintain flexibility as well as helping prevent brinelling of the races when the rollers stay in one spot all the time. When you come back to the space, put the tires on wood or plastic sheeting. Do not use tire dressing on them as that tends to accelerate the deterioration of the rubber because the dressing contains petroleum distillates.

I definitely believe that they should have something between them and concrete, and exercise. But if you can't exercise, I'm not sure, but I would see about putting the trailer on blocks (placed in the correct location), and putting them inside where they will stay dry, out out of the weather. I also read that if the trailer was going to set for a very long period put about 25% extra air just while setting. Be sure and take out before moving. I think the purpose is to keep the bulge from forming cracks.

I always have plywood between the tires and the ground. I also over inflate the tires and have jacked the wheels up enough to rotate the tires for sitting the 6 months at home.
