Hi, I’m a 66 year old single woman and have lived on a ranch in Montana for 7 years. I’ll be listing the ranch for sale and in the several years it may take to sell, I’m considering buying a ~35 foot 5th wheel and an F350 tow vehicle and traveling to 6 candidate cities for where I may want to eventually live. My idea is to live in or near the towns for a couple of months, join a gym, volunteer at a library, get to know the community a little. Ultimately my ranch will sell and I’ll have decided where to move next, then I’ll sell the 5th wheel md buy a house. So- my motivation for full time RV living isn’t as recreational as y’all, but I am retired and have some flexibility and some interest in exploring. Questions: I’ve owned one small bumper pull trailer, a 19’ R-pod (used), and never did learn to understand the electrical system which never worked well- it baffled me. I’m hoping that in purchasing a high quality 5th wheel I may have fewer issues. (i hope to add solar, lithium batteries, composting toilet .. and have found helpful posts on this forum). Am I taking on too much? would you do this alone? I’m not super handy.

There are plenty of online sources with lots of DIY info that should have answers for just about any issue you might ever come up against, so I believe that going this alone would be quite doable.
