Late model truck for hauling a 5th wheel.

Like most people, (I’m guessing) I don’t have deep pockets to pay for a new truck to pull my Keystone 5th wheel. 1,200 tow weight.
So, my question is in two parts. What is the best diesel engine to have and part #2, what late model truck will give me the lest problems?

Did you mean 12000, not 1200? As far as used diesels, would stay away from the 6.0 and 6.4L Fords, troublesome history with these. Early Duramax GMs have had injector and head gasket problems. Dodge/Ram--not familiar with them. In a used diesel truck, previous owner care important if that can be determined, but still will be a risk in any of them. If the fiver is actually 12000 and under, possibly a Ford V10 gasser would work.

How do you feel about F250 6.7 Powerstroke?

I have a '17--great truck/engine. Might pass on the '11s, first year, but no real knowledge of any problems.

You can't go wrong with a Cummins. They're the worlds largest manufacturer of diesel motors and have the best reputation.
With that said after 2014 or so it's personal preference as Chevy and Ford seem to have gotten the bugs out.
Also bear in mind if your trailer has a gross weight of 12000 lbs that means your pin weight will be about 2200 lbs, 20%. Ad to that the hitch, passengers and anything in the truck pushes your payload close to 3000 lbs.
Sooo, make sure you get enough truck. It's always better to have too much truck than not enough. Good luck
