My wife of 54 years died last month from pancreatic cancer. Might sound crazy but I am liquidating the household with an estate sale company and going to work my business until next April then buying a fifth wheel to live in full time. I have a GMC 3500 SRW paid for and a bass boat paid for so planning on living near Roosevelt Lake in Arizona 7 months then up to the Oregon coast for 5 months for the salmon runs. I have buddies that live on the Nehalem river and have boats int he water. Major adjustment in life no matter how much time you have to prepare. I look forward to learning as much as I can before I make the buy. I am thinking a 34 or 35' fifth wheel 2-3 years old.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Good luck with your plans. I would probably do something similar. Life is short even though it doesn't seem like it sometimes. I told my wife many times that I didn't want to work until I die so we saved our money and retired early. Been full-time for 5 years now and still love it.

My wife is having some health issues and I just had a bout with cancer. We haven't sold the house, but we take the camper out as much as we can. I would say go for it! You've had a tremendous loss and you should get out and do something that you really want to do. Best of luck.

Glen, might I warn you about the hitch weight on this particular RV and your SRW truck. The hitch weight will hover in the neighborhood of 3400 pounds after you have lived in it for a year or two. I don't know the cargo capacity of your truck (available on the door panel), but after you add hitch, cargo, dog, passenger(s), etc to your truck it will be quite the sum.
It is certainly worth looking into.
