We have a 2006 F350 6.0L diesel. While we had multiple problems with a 2003, we have had no problems with this one since we bought it new in 2006. Granted we only have 34000 miles on it, but this is almost all towing miles. I have heard that by 2005, most of the problems were fixed, but still here of some people having problems with 2006 -2007 6.0L. Just curious what kind of issues the 2006 - 2007 6.0L anyone have had and at what mileage did they start showing up?

I have owned 4 Super Duty Fords.
My 2006 PSD is the most troublesome Ford I have ever owed.
I have had a lot of sensors go bad that have caused other problems.
Limped into Fla. one time in fail safe mode that cost me over $800, two dealers and two weeks time.
I had the turbo blow off(two dealers within 60 miles and three days lost) two times in Ohio.
I have had the AC quit in Oklahoma from poor craftsmanship. Lost I day.
Had a rear wheel ABS sensor go bad in Texas that scared the **** out of me, because if you are towing and your ABS light is on for any reason you will have NO TRAILER BRAKES.
Even if you are in a normal stop in a hurry situation on loose ground and the ABS light comes on, just like it is supposed to, you will have no trailer brakes and the trailer will just push you.

I am at 48,000 miles now. All towing miles, except when running air-ends a couple of winters back.

It is nice to here that you have had good luck with your 2006 SD PSD.

ford and 6.0 diesel

Rick,
I had a 2004 350 SRW that I abused for over 120k miles, when the oil cooler blew and let oil into the cooling system. Fixed for $2100, then traded for a 2007 DRW that got me to 95,400 miles with only an single injector problem (warranty). At that point, having towed the MS a lot and noticing small things that indicated I might have problems soon, traded for an '09 450.
Towing a heavy trailer for a lot of miles is straining a 350, but it seems that it is up to the job. I opted for the 450 to get all tow ratings correct with the idea of keeping it a long time. Now at 55k and only had a couple oil leaks fixed under warranty.
If you are not having any indication of upcoming problems, you might consider checking into a Ford DieselCare engine warranty--I believe you are still eligible--that would help after 100k on the engine.
My 6.4 has done everything I ask of it, but fuel mileage is between 7-8 when towing, and 13 when not. The '11 450 is mainly a 350 with higher tow ratings, and the 6.7 supposedly gets better fuel mileage.
One of the benefits of a 450 is the shortened turn radius--until you have driven one, you won't realize how great that is over the 350.
