F250 super duty diesel king ranch

Depends on the truck. The answer is what the manufacturer says it is. Depending on how the truck is equipped and disregarding any accessories like, chips, Nancy Pelosi delete, springs, air bags, coon tails hanging out of the fuel door, and pinwheels on the radio antenna. You have three numbers to watch: towing capacity, payload capacity, which is usually the thing that drives most fifth wheel owners with a brain quickly toward a dually long before they run out of maximum trailer weight rating, and maximum CGRW, which cannot be changed regardless of what has been done to the truck. In my experience, you and the truck will be happiest around 80% of the first maximum you are likely to exceed. You can go to the limit, but you and the truck will feel the difference. Don't ask me how I know.

I’m shopping for a 5th wheel.

Where is the sweet spot for towing capacity
Fyi, most tow vehicles run out of payload capacity long before they run out of towing capacity. Make sure your truck has enough payload capacity, look for the "Tire and Loading" sticker on the driver's door frame. It should say something like The combined weight of passengers and cargo should not exceed ☆☆☆☆ pounds. The pin weight of most 5th wheels is about 20% of the 5th wheels total weight. That's why it's rare you ever see a half ton truck pulling a 5th wheel.
