Extended warranty

I’ve written about this subject before but I’m still undecided. I’ve never bought an extended warranty on anything in my entire life. The warranty I’ve been offered is through United States warranty corporation and claims to cover “virtually every mechanical, electrical, and electronic part essential to the operation of my vehicle” for 7 years beyond the factory warranty for a price of $2800.00. That’s $400.00 a year which seems high to me for an insurance policy.

So here’s my questions;
What major repairs have you encountered and what was the cost?
I think I’m better off putting the $2800.00 in an emergency fund and paying for repairs out of pocket. Do you agree or disagree and why?
