Cold water valve

We have the Dometic 4 door fridge with ice maker and cold water dispenser. The solenoid valve for the cold water has quite working. I am getting 12 volts to the top of the solenoid so I am assuming the solenoid is defective. I have had a parts guy working on getting a new one but so far he has had no luck and if he finds one they are over $300.00. Does any one know of a source for this part? Since I have completely removed the ice maker I would only need the 12 volt solenoid that supplies the water dispenser.

Not sure where you are located, but finding an appliance store that services all makes of fridges, then taking the solenoid to them to match, would maybe work. Altho, the 12volt aspect may end up a problem.

Thanks for the reply. I am trying some different places from a google search but so far not much luck. As for DRV, over the last 4 years I have e-mailed, phoned, left messages for other issues and so far not one reply. It seems that once the trailer was sold I am on my own. I'll keep trying and some where along the way I'll get the part. This one will be a challenge!!

I've had contact with just about everyone who works for DRV, including the janitor. I have always had my phone calls returned within 24 hrs and email even faster.
Anyway- the solonoid you need is available at most all RV stores and on the internet. I have replaced several over the years and usually cost around $35.00. An easy change out in less than 1 hour.
I happen to have 1 in the tool box that has a bad 120v side, but the 12v side is good. Will ship it to you free. Call me at 402 499 6601 with a name & address.
