Hello,

I'm trying to "Build" a one ton Silverado to haul a Cyclone 4114 (or equivalent model) -- a toy-hauler with a 14 foot or larger 'garage' that will have another vehicle parked inside it, either a Honda Fit or a Mini Cooper.

My mechanic friend likes the choice, but isn't familiar with trailer options. What options are essential? Which options are non-essential, but still good ideas?

Thanks!

My only thoughts would be the weight limit of the TH section--I don't know if they are designed to carry the weight of a car.

I'll have to check with the manufacturers.

I've seen photos with cars in the TH section (Fiat 500 and Mini Cooper) but those owners may have been 'getting away with it' rather than following manufacturers' recommendations.

I have never owned/used a TH, have always wondered about carrying a real vehicle in the back. Aside from whether the frame will handle the weight, another concern to me would be the actual weight distribution and what it would do to the necessary pin weight for stable towing.

So if I were to try to "Build" (on the Chevy website) an ideal Silverado 3500HD with Diesel Engine... what options should I select, to make the truck as ready to haul a trailer as possible?

Not much to add if you want a dually. Engine and trannie and rear end should be the same except for options that would be a personal choice. Money fixes any wants of course.
