I have a new 5er with an automatic awning. I am concerned that when it is retracted for travel that it might not be secure enough. on my old TT I had a manuel awning and when I closed it up and shook it it felt secure and I had peace of mind while traveling. I dont know anything about these new automatic ones and am a bit worried about it being secure while traveling. any and all suggestions are welcome.

thanks
Jon

I have had one since 04. There is no issue when traveling. Simply retract it manually and go. If you want you can always disable the auto feature by using the switch for that purpose on the circuit box for the unit. Additional locks are not needed. The auto feature should only be for automatic retraction, not extension on it.

Thanks for the reply.. i have had a travel trailer for years and this automatic awning stuff is all new to me so I get a little nervous.. but thank you that gives me some peace of mind.
