2012 F350 or F450 feedback

Hi y'all. I'm looking at the 2012 model and was wondering if there are any new owners who can share some feedback. The new engine, trans and single turbo, fuel mileage, etc.

Thanks in advance.

Suggest you check for answers at one of the Ford diesel owners forums:

www.thedieselstop.com

But with your trailer, I would be looking at the 450...

2012 F350 DRW

Pulled 2012 Mobile Suite 36rSSB3 from West Coast to East Coast and back. Average fuel mileage 12mpg. No problems but Rockies were fun. :)

I pull a Mobile Suite 36 TKSB3 with my 4x4 F350 dually. Engine has not missed a beat after 46,000 miles. Transmission is good also. A great combination.

I've owned a 2000 F250, 2010 & 2013 F350s among others. Whenever I get to thinking about a different truck, I catch myself thinkin about a F450/550 cab chassis w/ aftermarket bed. Don't know that I need all that much truck since all my numbers consistently fall within spec & MPG is not all that bad. I have pulled 5th wheels, Travel trailers & pop ups over 400,000 miles and never needed more truck. I guess its the little boy thing, "always wanting more" Having RV'd since '58 I'm pretty settled in now so will probably stick to what we have. Trucks are kinda like women, once you find the right one, stick with her. Also, when towing trailers you are not going to win any race so why try.

Slow down, travel safe & enjoy your journeys!

Mikey,
If you ever feel the need to succumb to the need for a cab/chassis in a Ford, be aware the engines are de-tuned with less HP and TQ than the pickup, and a different turbo. I would suggest you consider a pickup and remove the bed to add the aftermarket bed--IF you decide to change.

Had both. In my opinion both are great (currently have a 2012 F-350 dually) and essentially the same. There are likely differences but the only thing noticeable is the turning radius on the 450 seemed much sharper.

Oops...replied to an old post...........
