Camp Hosting

Hi All,
First time it happened to us. We have done a lot of camp hosting mostly in State Parks.
In May of 2010 we reserved a camp Host spot for Oct 2010 in a State Park in Louisiana.(Lake Bistineau State Park)
Today, approx two weeks before they send me an email saying they wanted to keep the old camp host so no space would be available for us. Very hard to believe....
Is there anything we should or can do???? Losing the hosting job isn't so bad for us but I don't think this should be allowed. I can see were this could mess up a lot of other folks...
I am just mad!

But, what can you do??
Life is what happens when we are busy making plans....

You can contact the state park HQ and advise them of what happened and ask if there are other open parks for you to host in. Even if you don't want to host in another location you should pass on the way that you were treated.

As much as I might want to make an issue of this I probably wouldn't out of concern that I might hurt my prospects of future camp hosting opportunities in LA. I think Motor31 has the right approach to hopefully turn up another opportunity. As word gets around the RV community this will eventually result in Lake Bistineau SP having difficulty in attracting quality workampers as it well should.

Well you don't have to make it a complaint, you can make it in the form of a "suggestion" to the management. That way you won't ruin your chances of getting a nice reservation again next time.
Me and the guys are trying another approach next year, we are going on private land scouted from Acreage for sale and we want have quite a few already lined up for the beginning of the year. Maybe you can try to make your own luck like we're trying to do.
