Mounting a rack on the back of a 5er

We are looking to add a rack on the back of our 32tk3 mobile suites to put our 250cc scooter on. Has anyone done this or anything similar to carry stuff. I think the frame on the drv's are strong enough to handle the stress from what I've heard. thanks for any info

If you had the optional bike hitch installed it will not handle the job. You'll need to use a fabrication outfit to install a complete underframe support and weld it to the the frame of the trailer. Keep in mind that since the bike will be at the very rear of a large tilting object every bump and lunge will be magnified causing a considerable amount of stress on the unit. You are going to be installing a rather large and heavy lever on the end of the trailer to flex and stress the frame on every single bump on the road. There will be considerable movement back and forth with the scooter as well so you will need a heavy bracing to prevent it from making contact with the rear cap.

You'll also need to take into account the balance of the rig and the addition of the load to the GVW. Most DRV's are extremely heavy on the pin weight so it might not be too much of a change.
