2012-2014 1 Ton Dually

Looking for recommendations on used 2012-2014 1Ton Dually of any brand. I know everyone has their preference of brand but at this point I’m more interested in reliable track record of used trucks from these years. If anyone knows of issues with any ones from these years I would like to know.
Certain options to stay away from, gear ratios, etc on certain models.

Any feedback is much appreciated.

Keep in mind that in 2013 Ram’s GVWR went from 12,300# to 14,000#.

Montana, that's a good thing. If you are looking for a dually then there is a reason. Probably that you are going to tote a load. All the big three that you will be looking at will generally be at 14K. Yes, they are all good. And they will all pull the ox off a rooster. And no, one will not pull more than sox then the other one. Buy the one that is in great shape, as low mileage as you can find, and in your budget. And it is a plus factor if Momma likes what you decide on!

Yeah I figured I could go either way that’s why I mentioned I didn’t have a preference but the fact that I will be towing 16k 5th wheel I’d like dually even if I could squeeze into SRW more for the safety of a flat.

Guess what I’m trying to find out is the pitfalls of certain models, options, etc. injector issues, transmission problems, seals, etc. Anything strange about different gear ratios being problematic, etc.

And heavier GVWR doesn’t necessarily mean more payload.

Well some things happened to Ram that year to increase the GVWR by 1,700#.
Stronger frame, fully boxed front to rear.
Ram started using DEF, better fuel mileage.

Yes, the truck is a bit heaver than the 2012 and before due to the boxed frame.

Well our new to us 2016 Ram Laramie 3500 DRW, Aisin, with 3.73's has a Payload per yellow sticker of 5,411#.
