Cal, I didn't know you even veered off into the other forums....
Now get down there and wash that black truck again; I detected some heavy dust behind the passenger side!

Here's our rig in full timer mode, about 23K GCW.

It is as shiny black as it will get I expect! Here is ours a few weeks ago somewhere in Florida. You can't see the love-bugs on the cap of the Suites! Nasty rascals! We were at 29,800 GCW at the CAT scale in Belle Glade, Florida.

US numbered highways

During our full time traveling years we traveled mostly on US numbered highways and state/rural roads. We used interstate highways in areas of the country that were sparsely populated where viewing the same scenery may last for hundreds of miles. There are large sections of highway US-1 from Key West, FL to Van Buren, ME.

US-1enters Maine at the town of Kittery. Shopping Malls there are like fancy strip malls elsewhere in the country. Here are pictures from Kittery.

Studebaker's Restaurant & Lounge

On a day trip from our parking site at Mackinaw City, MI, we traveled north on I-75 to Sault Ste Marie, MI to tour the Soo Locks. Before heading back to the trailer we stopped for a sort of dinner at Studebaker’s. They had great starters and we made a meal by sharing some of them.

These short stories do not follow any time line at all.

When traveling across KS on US-54 you’ll encounter some beautiful farm land.

In these pictures we were traveling west on I-40 where we would park at the WIlliams Railway RV Park for a few days. We took the train to the north rim and used the free transportation there to explore the fantastic views.

Nice rig! have you ever been to Cherokee, NC with it? There are hundreds of miles of very interesting rides there for a ride like yours. My son has a Harley. He was just up there for the leaf changing.

There is a RV park on the river edge on the way to Cherokee on US-74. It has sites that would be an easy fit for your whole rig.

Um.... I haven't quite figured out what this forum thread is really all about, so thought I just jump in and throw this out there:

Fortville, Indiana:

Here's more information about this oddity:

Martini Drinking pink elephant

Or this one. I still laugh when I see this photo. We were in Southern Indiana (somewhere) driving through this small town. Now granted.... we were in Amish country.

US-95 - NV

When traveling US-95 between Reno & Las Vegas, NV there isn't much other than unpopulated lands to look at. However, when we last traveled that highway, it was in excellent condition with shoulders safe to pull-off onto and even some real pull-offs with exotic wild American animals.

Texas, Interstate 10

Sometimes when traveling in Texas you wonder if you’re ever going to get where you’re going. These were taken on I-10. The rest areas were spectacular.

Mohegan Sun Resort & Casino, Uncasville, CT

When traveling on I-395 in central CT, you will see loads of signs inviting you to the Mohegan Sun Resort & Casino. They have built numerous, excellently maintained, roads leading to the huge complex. You don’t have to be a gambler to enjoy this fabulous resort. There is something for everyone. The inside floor space is about a mile long, so you have to be ambulatory. For those like me with worn-out hips a mobility chair can be rented for a very reasonable daily cost. They are located and maintained at the Valet Parking offices.

Cal is like myself in that he likes posting pictures of places he has been. However, in my case, I don't post them so much at RV forums as I do at others like firearms forums.

Plus, I tend to "embed" my photos from Smugmug, and in most forums, clicking on the picture in the forum posting will take one to my Smugmug site to see a full-sized version of the photo. Then, "X-ing" out of the image there in the upper right hand corner allows one to see the rest of the thumbnails for the photos in that gallery.

Look very closely at the lower left side of this photo of one of the Navajo Bridges south of Page, AZ and you can see what I missed at the time. There is a California Condor resting on the ledge below the bridge beams.

Dickinson, ND

From our two-week layover at Minot, ND we headed south. We traveled rural roads all the way to Rapid City, SD

We made a few days stop at Dickinson, ND. We entered town on ND-22. Our parking sites were very large FHU sites. The park was conveniently located for our trips to the Theodore Roosevelt NP. The roads there were very well maintained and we visited three times.
