Slide Motor

I have a 2001 Keystone Cougar with 1 slide. I believe the motor is finally getting tired, it is slow to respond and sometimes I need to have the family go outside and push to help the slide retract. I went to the local RV dealer to find one and they claim a new one is $800.00 just for the part, I checked with another RV repair guy and he can't even find one. Help, I don't know where to turn. The motor is a Dewald #015121. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I can't help you, but maybe someone at the Keystone forums can:

Barker Mfg. in Michigan made a lot of the slide out motors for various brands of trailers. Would be worth a call/email to see if they can help you. Here is their information

Motor

Powergear bought out Dewald a while back go on line and get the phone number. Give them a call I suspect they can fix you up with the correct motor. The Powergear website does say that you can not buy just the motor you will have to buy the entire unit gears and all.

That kinda bad but you will have a spare set of gears so all's not lost.

Hope this helps

As always good camping
