Lift System

As my Muscular Dystrophy progresses, I am having more difficulty getting in and out of the RV and the truck; a step has been added below the running board on the truck. I've done a lot of searching for some type of lift for both vehicles, but have been unsuccessful. There is no room on the left side of the door for mounting on the RV and no where to put anything on the truck. Does anyone here have any information for lifts for our applications?

Terry,
We have RV friends that used a lift on their RV for an elderly parent. I'll reach out to him to see if they have any details. I don't recall what was involved with setup but it was something they did at each campground as 'Mom' always went with them.

Thank you, CampingNut; I checked the link but did not see anything for a lift. I will call them on Monday.

Port, I talked with your friend and he had useful suggestions. I'll follow up on Monday; thank you.

I don't know about mounting but I have a wheel chair lift that came out of a van that you can have if you want but you'd have to ship it on a pallet which I happen to have. It worked when removed but has been stored outside.

The RV industry and technology have just began to address the issues faced by people with limited mobility that want to get out and do things instead of just sitting around.

I would start contacting RV manufacturers and RV aftermarket builders inquiring about aids and apparatus for those with difficulties. They may be able to provide who has done these conversions.
I do know there have been towable and class A motorized rigs that have had lifts incorporated.
I just can’t remember who it was.
I think YouTube had some videos.

I know the technology exists.

Thank you, Eric; but I'll pass on the lift. I need something to get me in and out.
RLH, a friend of porthole's contacted me and recommended Burr Engineering. They have a personal lift that attaches to the side of the door. However, using it prohibits the use of the steps. My 92 year old Mother occasionally travels with us, and I think it would be dangerous for her. Her poor eyesight may not alert her if the lift is down. Still searching.
