I thought the Tradition might be lighter than the Select. But hitch tag shows a GVWR of 17,000 lbs.

It would seem that it IS lighter. Our 38TKSB3 SS has a GVWR or 18.000 lbs.

I thought they were competing with Montana's. They top out under 16k. Our first FT 5er had a GVWR of 16,500, but was a 40' triple axle.

So to me the 17,000 is heavy. The 2011 Chevy 2500HD can tow 17,800, so that's not much of a cushion.
