Awning not centered

Hello everyone; This is pobably a normal occurrence but is a pain in the butt when it gets real windy as our awning de-flappers only fit one side of the awning. It looks like the awning cloth has moved in the grooves over to the left and is no longer centered in between the awning arms. Does the awning have to be rolled in to relaese the tension on the cloth to move it or is it easier to slide when it is out? I am afraid I will rip it if I try and pull it back into place. Anyone out there have this problem and how did you fix it?
