Do you want to send it for repair or get the instructions to do it yourself? Specialty Window Coverings will repair or send you the string & instructions on how to do it yourself. 574-262-5190 is their number. It's really easy to re string yourself, just takes time. The written instructions they send out are not that helpful, but the pictures are. You have to lay it on a flat surface, like a patio table. The first one I did, I laid on the bed and it was far more difficult to do it. A patio table is much easier. Good luck

DRV has the contact number for the folks that made the blinds. They sent me string and instructions with diagrams on how to do it. The 2 string ones are pretty simple. A table does help as does a couple rubber bands. If the blinds are hard to move you need to loosen the strings before they wear out. The factory set the tension about twice as high as needed on ours.

The wife had ordered a spool of string and after reading the previous posts, I attempted to string the blind. Only one side had broke and after some frustration, I completed the assembly. I remounted the shade and realized that had a obstruction so apart again and yeah, it worked. thanks for the replies. Jim

shades
Jim,
Based on my wife's experience with these shades--when one goes, several others are near death. Suggest you look over all the strings closely while you have the memory of how they restring, and do any others that are frayed because we have found that doing only one in six months doesn't help us to remember how to do them. We went ahead and did several at the same time and it went a lot easier because we were used to the process.
And what others have said about the tension on the strings--too tight will wear them out fast; just enough tension to hold them up is about right.
Joe
