What is the length of awning on 07 38 RL3
I'm purchasing an 07 38 RL3 and need to replace the automatic awning fabric. Does anyone one happen to know what size fabric is needed? (As measured between awning supports on center, not the fabric itself.)
Also, can a 3/4 ton haul this unit if all tanks are empty?
Much appreciated thank you.

Are you talking about using the 3/4 ton as your tow vehicle, or just to move it somewhere? It is going to be too heavy on the pin to constantly tow it with that type truck, probably will over load the 2 rear tires--not a good deal.
My '05 36TK3 had a PW of 4200 and weighed 15285lbs from the factory, unloaded.

Hi Wingnut,
This would be for a 1 time move of about 600 miles (Yuma AZ, to near San Jose, CA. There is one large pass to go over.
I'm looking at renting a 1 ton from Enterprise, or we have a couple of trucks at work that are dualies, I just don't know if they are 3/4 or 1 ton trucks yet. I believe they already have the 5th wheel hitches in them from the large trailers that they regularly pull. I'm not sure if the Enterprise trucks are actually equiped for 5th wheels or not. I still have to call on that.

You need to hire someone to haul that puppy! OR borrow a larger truck.

If it is a dually, it will be a 1-ton. If equipped with the electrical hookups, then it may work if you are careful. Don't try it with the 3/4 truck...The other kicker is your experience in towing heavy fivers--for the cost of a 1-way truck rental, you can probably hire a company that deals in trailer moves to do it for you, and they should be insured against any problems/accidents. Just about any towing company can do it.
Just sounds to me like you ought to hire it done.
As to the awning, should be 14', but it is also a job to be done by experienced people.

Thanks wingnut. It looks like I've found a guy to move it for less than 1k. So between my time involved, risk and everything I will have him move it. He's moving with a 3500.
I've dealt with a 23' awning fabric before so I figure me and another strong guy can handle it even though this one is electric.

Just be sure one of you has insurance coverage on having it moved--if an accident happens, who pays? Shaky ground unless you are sure of coverage.
Last time I had the fabric replaced (Camping World, ugh--but they didn't mess it up) it took 2 guys, and for a short period, a third one.
Not something I would tackle, so good luck. And with the move.

I took some pictures that may help you with the length of your awning. I'll try my best to post those.

Thanks, yeah I waited till it arrived and measured at 16ft. I had a helper to get it down and put back up, but in the end I wish I could have paid someone a couple hundred to do it. More than that, I would probably do it myself again.
What I didn't realize I would have to remount was the metal cover the protects when it's rolled up. I almost didn't re-install the protection cover, but I had some extra time before help was available to put the thing back up in the air, so I went ahead and mounted it (glad I did now).
