Tires/Wheels available

I recently changed out my original 16" Goodyear tires and factory wheels to 17.5" set. I have the 4 tires and wheels at a good deal for anyone that might have a need for them. Tires have good tread--I know the mileage to be under 10,000--but there is the age to consider. Located in Burleson, TX. The spare is new, never on the ground, is also available.

Where did you purchase the 17.5"s from and are they H rated?

Do you have pictures of the 16"?

The 17.5" tires are available from Goodyear dealers that sell to the trucking industry. They were originally designed for those tag or secondary axles you see on things like dump trucks and cement trucks. To those suppliers they are a common item, to the regular Goodyear dealers they are not well known.

17.5 wheels

www.trailertiresandwheels.com look them up and call them, great to work with.

You have to be sure the brakes will clear the new wheels, I think.

16" wheels/tires

FD5--
I can get some pics to you by email, if you are interested. Its kind of far to MS to get them, but I can tell you the price is good.

What are you asking for the wheels and tires?

I'd rather do this by email, please.

When you changed out your wheels and tires did you have to change or modify the hubs in any way??

tires/wheels

Okie,
My trailer came from the factory with 7k axles and the 16" GY tires. However, the previous owner ordered it equipped with the larger brake drums. I don't know if this changeout would work for any MS that came out in 2005. For less than I spent on the changeout, the original owner could have had all the upgrades when ordered???? Don't know where the breakdown came in the dealer/factory system that let the trailer out the door with only 185lb of cargo capacity!!!

I took a lug nut to the tire dealer--he assured me if I had those lugs, the wheels would fit. Got a different story from Dexter--they said they never put the larger brakes on the smaller axles. This info kept me worried until I actually put the wheel on--and it fit perfectly.

If you look on the axle you should be able to find the serial number from Dexter. If you contact Dexter with that number they can tell you exactly what that axle is rated for. Also if you need a replacement someday that number allows them to send you the exact same thing to replace it.
