Mobile Scout 38BWQS 5'er

We went last weekend to look at the above trailer. It surprised me as to how well it was finished and some of the improvements that Sunnybrook has made to their top of the line Titan trailers.

We are interested in the rear den design trailer and have looked at several brands, including KZ, Landmark and Mobile Suites. In my estimatiom, the KZ is the lowest rated, then the Sunnybrook, Mobile Suites and (IMHO) best of the lot, the Landmark. Both the Landmark and Mobile Suites are very heavy, which makes the Mobile Scout come out ahead of the pack.

I know that there are those that recommend an MDT to tow trailers in this weight class, but I see lots of them on the road being pulled by regular old one ton trucks. I'm trying to buy something that will safely pull my trailer and still get decent fuel mileage.

The big problem with all the pickup trucks pulling these heavy trailers, is when weighed, it seems some part of the weight rating is overweight. Could be pin too heavy for rear axle rating. Could be pin pushes the weight over what the tires can carry, or GVWR is put to the max. I see it all the time, and yes people will say they feel fine pulling their large trailer, but for me, I went big truck.

There are lots of people that did like you did and bought the bigger truck. I'm really not interested in a larger truck because my wife tells me I'm not.

If your puller is your only vehicle a class 7 it makes it a little harder to get around. The additional room, for a porti potti, being able to stand up and move around, take as nap, not to mention power and brakes. I know where you are at... no one is happy if mama is not happy
