You don't have the Tow/Haul option in that year, I seem to remember. It should be a good addition if it performs as the ads say. Never hurts to be cautious over safety.

I think it has 4 speed tow/haul but it does not have the newer torque shift transmission with the down shift on braking tow/haul. If it is equipped with an auto. trans.

I can't offer any suggestions on a pack brake for that(7.3) motor.

F250 -pac brake

the tranny has a "overdrive " button on end of shift which allows you to slightly down shift. I do use it going down grades but it is not enough to really slow you down enough without using bracks too much. So what I'm looking for is something like PAC BRAKE to help assist in controlling down hill speeds. Also this eats up brakes fast. Thanks for replies.

I have an 08 F450 with 4.30's , I've got about 3000 miles and seem to average 11 to 12 mpg.

Pac Brake

Bolicek,
The Tow/Haul on the Torqueshift is simply a forced downshift built into the transmission--basically, the same thing you can do by manually downshifting with the lever. Not quite as good, as the variable vane turbo provides back pressure that your turbo won't-- but should help. With the 2002 year, you have a 7.3-- I have heard the exhaust brakes work very well with those engines.
