No Starboard AC Power
I was de-winterizing my 2004 36 RS3 today and a peculiar thing has happened. I have no 120 AC power to the entire right side of the coach which includes the washer, dryer, ceiling fan and wall sockets. Everything on the left side works fine, which includes the TV, stereo system, and microwave. I have cycled all the breakers, including my house breaker but still have nothing. I am totally stumped since the AC all runs through the same 50 amp service box and the items that don't have power all have their own breakers. Of course this had to happen on a Friday afternoon when everything is closed and we're packing to leave next week for a 2 month trip to San Diego. I could sure use some thoughts from some electrical gurus.

Go look at all of your wall sockets, Port side also...Look for the GFI button to reset. There also might be a 120 breaker in the box that has a GFI on it and even if the breakers look fine reset all.

AHA, the mystery is solved. It wasn't the MS that was the problem, it was the power supply cord. I got to thinking about what I had done today and when I walked through it in my mind it dawned on me that I had turned on the irrigation system to the front yard. As it turns out the 50/30 amp stepdown plug was in the water and apparently one leg had shorted. Took it apart, plugged it back in and, voila!!! we have power.

I had the same thing happen in a RV park. We set up and plugged in. After about 20 minutes the AC and ceiling fan quit. It turned out one of the breakers in the 50 amp plug had died and one leg of the plug was getting no power. Nice to know that both AC units are on the same leg of the power cord. I really don't know how it keeps from overloading the breaker in a power box when both are on but it works. It seems to me that one should be on each leg to spread the load out a bit.

I had a problem with loosing one leg of the power. Looked at the male end of the cable and found that the prongs needed to be spread open a little so they would make good contact.

Did you check the power box to see if you had power to both sides of it? The two center blades should have 110 volts each and a total of 220 combined. If the meter can't read 220 with a probe in each of the center connection locations the problem is in the box not the trailer.
I partially pulled out the plug from the box then read the voltage from the blades of the plug since my meter has short contact points.

loss of power
I see quite a few folks with the same issue. Seems they didn't realize that the RV end of the power cable is "twist and lock". Sometimes, if you don't twist the end on to the recepticle at the RV, you will not get one leg connected, thus, no power.

I agree with Motor31. I believe this problem probably occurs due to weak breakers in the park's supply posts on the 50 amp breakers. Always a good idea to check the voltages and even monitor them.
