Honda EU3000is

Is anyone running synthetic oil in their generator - specifically Amsoil?
Does the generator run any cooler or run smoother?
I know synthetics are superior to regular oil but are they worth the price?

I run Royal Purple. I really don't notice any operational difference. For such a small quantity of oil, I think the 'extra expense' is worth it. The 4 gallons of synthetic for the Power Stroke is painful.

We are running Amsoil in ours but have since day one so I can't say if it helps. It does run really smooth, quiet & cool.
Glad we went with a Honda vs. the Kipor - I've been reading that they are having alot of trouble with the 3500 watt model not running the AC.

I had done the same thing before this and come to the conlusion that synthetic oil in generator has not been very good, because they has different seal swell than other brands and can cause sudden oil seal failure

I use what the manufacturer recommended, dino oil, in my generator. I figure the folks that designed and built is have an idea of what it needs to run. If they say use synthetic, then I spend the money for it. If synthetic is not specified then I use regular dino oil. I have not had a single oil related failure in any engine in any vehicle, power tool or generator I have had over the last 50+ years.

Yes dear, I also own a Honda eu3000is generator but I never faced any such problem. I think you should contact your dealer about your issue. It may help you to sort-out your problem.
