Electric 50 Amp Power Cable Reel

If the motor dies on the electric reel which winds up the 50 amp power cord, is there a better way to wind it up manually? I can see with the limited access it would be a challenge. Mine is manual to extend out, but uses the motor to retract.
Thanks for any input.

Rick

The best way to store a 50 amp cord.

Obtain a plastic milk crate and wind the cord into the crate. This makes a tidy storage container.

Forget the electric reel !
