Hydraulic pump base

Since I have not seen this mentioned in the past 3 years of reading this forum, I thought I would give you guys a heads up on this.

While doing my monthly battery check and service I found that the platform that the hydraulic pump sits on falling down almost on top of the battery. Maybe I have been driving over rougher roads than most.

My fix was to jack the thin piece of tin that it sits on up into place, unscrew the 3 screws holding a 3x12" piece of plywood underneath it. Cut a new piece of 3/4" plywood to cover the whole bottom of the base. Jack it up into place and secure it with four 2x2 legs in each corner. Now it can bounce all it wants and it will never go anywhere.

While I had the batteries out, I found some loose fittings on the small control wires to the batteries. I took the opportunity to solder all of the fittings while everything was apart. Not too bad of a job and maybe you can improve on this idea and save yourself a potential headache on the road.
