Elite GVWR?

The Elite has a GVWR of 21,000# and the MS is 18,500.

It the frame constructed differently to accommodate the extra 2,500# or is this just arbitrary?

I was told they are the exact same frames and axles in both units, but I have not been to the factory in quite some time to ask for sure.

If you ask the factory to upgrade your MS to the Elite GVWR, they will. Had it done on mine. I think it was just a sales pitch as they are built exactly the same frame, axle, walls and floor wise.

Oh, my MS with all th options and what we carry weighs in at 20,450 lbs.

We had our MS rated at 20,000 lbs because the 38-footers come standard with 17.5" tires, etc.

But our 2006 Elite Suite, was only rated at 18,500 and they wouldn't change it. Even though all other Elite's that same year had 20,000 in their stickers.

I've only heard the 43' are 21,000 or higher. The 36'-40' Elites were always listed as max 20,000.

weight

i was told when we ordered Elite #3917 at the end of the 2007s that the fiberglass roof was 1500 pounds on the Elite and the granite counter tops were near that also. We wanted the fiberglass roof but did not get the Granite...that would account for most of that weight difference Also our tires are H rated and i think they have upgraded to J rated ones now. Ours weighs in at 20,000# if we are careful.
