Temp Diffential on Thermostat

My furnace cycles back on too soon once it reaches the set temperature. I suspect the temperature differential between "off then back on" is set to a minimum. I thought I read someplace on this forum that the temperature differential of the thermostat could be increased to minimize the cycling.

If so, does anyone know how to accomplish the resetting of the thermostat differential?

I have the Duo-Therm thermostat will multiple zones.

Thanks for your help.

One thing to remember is that the burner in the furnace is not always on.
The thermostat tells the burner to turn off (and it does)a while before the fan and/or blower turn off, giving the imprecision that the furnace is running too much.
I hope this explanation makes scene.

I don't know of any way to adjust the temp. differential on the thermostat in an RV. Some home style thermostats have an adjustable setting for that.

Huck is right. We normally set out thermostat on 67 degrees at night and 70 in the day time. And we are very comfortable at those settings. And the systems keeps the temps at that setting.

Thanks for the input guys.

I called the Duo-Therm folks and spoke with a technician, here's what they told me.

The thermostat is wired back to a circuit board which has dip switches. Dip switch # 6 controls the temp differential. Slide switch over and it should increase the differential by about 2-3 degrees.

After that the thermostat needs to be reset. Turn off the thermostat, push and hold down the Mode & Zone buttons, turn the thermostat back on and when "FF" flashes up let go buttons and all should be well.

So now I need to figure out where the circuit board with the dip switches is. May be up on the air conditioning unit? If anyone knows where the dip switch board is let me know.

That's what I've got so far. Will look for the board in a few days and will post back information.

I have had the duo therm thermostat apart and did not find any dip switches in the unit itself.

The only dip switches I know of are on the rooftop a/c units. I would suspect those are the dip switches they are speaking of.

As always good camping
