Drawer & cabinet latch

Okay so when I bought the MS the original owner had changed out quite a few broken latches. There are still some that need to be replaced. Online they have 5 or 10 lbs styles. How do I tell which I have? Mine are brown and like the original owner it's the female side that has failed.

Use 10 lbs. Stronger. When replacing, check the alignment. You may have to move the screw location to make them align properly. They break because they're not aligned. My new 2019 MS had many latches mis-aligned from the factory.

Always use the stronger hook part--if that is the one that is breaking, you can use it on the lighter catch, but you have to relocate the screw holes for the hook. Also, if the latch part is ok, then you can just purchase the hook part separately and just replace that part. Have never broken one of the stronger hooks.

Only the latch side is breaking. Prior owner left ten hook sides in a bag. There was one latch side left & wife installed it on the inverter door just on the bottom right as you enter the 5th wheel.

This is common for this type of latch unless they are aligned perfectly. Unfortunately, they have slotted holes and as they are used, they eventually slide out of alignment. Make sure the screwa are tight, and mark the exact location of the latch. you can add a bit of trim tape to hold them in place once you are sure they are placed properly. Always use the 10 pound ones.
