Star Performance 5th Wheel Hitches
I'm looking for the "right" hitch for my 2007 MS 36TK3 - 18,500 axles
Trail-Aire suspension and pin
Truck - 2008 F450 Crew Cab Dually 8' box
My Canadian dealer is suggesting a Star Performance 5th Wheel Hitch
Website - http://www.sphitch.com/default.htm
Comments please (and thank you)

I have no personal experiance with that brand of hitch, sorry. I just wanted to stress that a 4 way rocking hitch is best for ease of operation and low stress on the truck and trailer. It will flex side to side as well as front and back to avoid binding. Make sure you get a hitch that has more capacity than you will be placing on it. Since the trailer is 18,500 lbs get at least a 20k hitch.
I have used a Reese hitch and currently have one model of a Trailersaver (non air hitch) on my truck. Both have served well.

Hitch
Hi Mike: you are right 4 way rocking hitch is the only way to go. MY first hitch was a Reese 20K never had a problem with it. I now have a McCall air hitch which I have blocked up so my Trail Air pin box does all the work which I like much better.
Mike where are you these days, we are in Riverside County,Ca.
Have a good week.

I own and use the sphitch converter to goose neck and I liked it well enough to become a dealer here in Ky.It does a great job of stopping the chucking caused by the fifth wheel.I think if you try one you'll be a believer also.

Wingnut60 I have been pulling fifth wheel trailers with a gooseneck converter for years, the thing I liked about the star performance hitch is the ability to obsorb the chucking motion or back and forth movement felt in the truck by the occupants as the trailer supension works up and down.Doug at sphitch.com now has a fifth wheel setup with that should be great. Check out his web site sphitch.com.Also look at the link below on the glide ride, they will describe it better than I can. http://www.nationshost.net/~demco/in...d=57&Itemid=62 .If the link fails do a Google search for Demco Glide ride.
Here is a link to a magazine article that lead me to sphitch.com. http://www.rvlifemag.com/file351/hitchhints351.html
Hopefully some of this will help, and if interested let me know .If you need call Doug Cole at Star Performance Hitch 1-605-723-4245 tell him Tim sent you.
