Level up & triglide

My wife and I are now in NC. Had to get here for family medical reasons.

Not sure when we can leave, but will be planning to go back to Indiana and would like to have the level up system and triglide installed. I have done a search, but lots of hits and would like to ask some questions.

With the triglide, do I have to adjust the height of my hitch? For those with this, has it reduced the chucking? We don't have a lot, but there are roads that are really bad...

How many level up versions are there? Which is best/most versatile? How long to install and where is install done?

I've seen Dale Fenton's name mentioned, 800-998-4238, is he the person to coordinate the install?

Thanks in advance, Gordon.

There is only 1 version now of level up. You can add a remote control if you like. I have the remote and it is really helpfull at times.

The triglide does help with chucking. I don't think you should have to adjust the height of your hitch unless you are on the borderline of it being to high before you add the triglide. It will add about 2" of height.

Dale Fenton is the man to see.

level up

Gotta add my 2 cents here.

The electronic level that comes with the levelup system is almost useless.

It uses batteries faster than you can replace them and the display times out too quickly. There just is no sub for the old fashsion bubble levels. I do not use my electronic at all.

You might ask to leave it out of the levelup system if you get one and it would save you some money. I am sure there must be some folks that like it, but I am not one.

I'm with you Bill, If anyone wants to buy my electronic level, they can have it. I think it is sold with the level up because Lippert bought the company that make them. Totally useless due to the battery issue.

Gordon, you may not know, but if you have the "Triglide" bottom pin-box jaw installed, your Trailair pin-box will probably be raised one bolt hole to provide some allowance for the slightly lower pin of the Triglide. I think that is probably the basic procedure for the installation, unless there is existing high or low height problems.

Talk with Dale directly if you have questions on this!

I had adjustment remaining in my hitch, so I dropped the jaws one hole. I'm in the bottom now and it is fairly level. I measured the pin box before I installed the triglide and the triglide added about 1.5" to the pin box. The one hole adjustment put me back to the same clearance of the truck bed. I think it would have been much more work to raise the pin box, and I would have needed help, that bugger is hvy.
I also no longer use the battery operated leveling reader, because of Battery issue.

Thanks for your input, that helps me be prepared. Seems like it will be worthwhile to have the remote and not the electronics plus I can lower my hitch so maybe I won't have to have 2 strong men and a boy jockey the pinbox around...

Now to find the time to call Dale. Gordon

Fully automatic Level Up coming soon

Not to put you off on the Level-Up but you might consider waiting for the fully automatic version that will be available soon. They are working the kinks out of it now and the word I have is it will be ready by year's end. I don't have details of its functionality but it is the next step in the evolution of the Level-Up.

I will make it unanimous. The digital level that comes with the Level-Up is pretty much useless for the stated reasons. Eats batteries and times out too quick. But I do appreciate the Level-Up. It works great. I have the remote version and it is useful when hooking up - I can raise/lower the pin from inside the truck.

We are finishing up, to a certain extent, the family issues here and will be going to Goshen eventually and having the Triglide and Level Up installed on the 28th. Talked to Kara, very nice and helpful.

Can't wait for the self leveling, we have 3800 + miles to go to take care of business and get home before the snow flies...

Anyone else going to be there during this time doing the same thing? If so, see you there...Gordon
