Cleaning Microwave/Convection oven

Have started to get a buildup of a yellowish/orangish gunk on the inside of the oven..Its a stainless steel GE. Doesn't matter what I use won't come off.. Have tried steel wool, got the gunk off but stratched the surface. Was wondering what anyone else might be using..(If you say your wife I promise to come see you in the hospital). Tried the boiling water,,windex,,even the gell gloss, and stainless steel cleaner/polish.
Any inputs apperciated.
Thanks
