Tires

Been looking at a lot of info on tires, heres what I've found, always buy tires rated for your max load, also look at speed rating on the tires, I'm getting goodyear G614 RST 235 85R 16 G rating speed of 75 tires this week, looked @ other brands in this size they had load rating but not speed 60 max, thats why there half the price. I want the piece of mind.

Should be ok, GYs in that size have a good rep. If you ever want more "piece of mind" change over to 17.5" wheels/tires from www.trailertiresandwheels.com
I did that 8 years ago and have never had a flat/blowout.

Max load has a different meaning for trailer tires because max load for them is going to be minus the hitch weight whereas for motor homes max load is GVWR.

The TRA has approved a maximum speed rating of 81 MPH for all ST tires. All new ST tires will have a speed letter code on their sidewalls. There is no speed letter code for 65 MPH. The letter K = 68 MPH, L = 75 MPH and M = 81 MPH.

There are about five "off shore" tire manufacturers building the steel cased tire like the G614. Because of reduced tariffs they are much less expensive. They are also building a like sized steel cased ST tire with a 4080# load capacity at 110 psi.
