Possible Purchase

Hey guys, im new on here. Im thinkin bout buyin my first 5th wheel. Its a 1976 Prowler. 27ft. Still have to save for it, cause my account is bone dry, lol. It needs work, I know. Reason for buyin so old is A) Its close to the year of my truck, 1977, and B) Its really all I can afford ATM. I was wondering what you guys think. Perty sure it has some rot in the front area, and probably needs the roof redone. Not sure what else other then tires, bearings need re-grease, check the lights and what not. Oh, its $995.

If anyone has any pictures of one like this, Thatd be great. Would like to refrence for furniture. (table, couch, chairs, stuff like that)

In all honesty I can't say that this is a good idea at all. If there is rot in the frame that will be a major expense and repair. The roof itself, depending on what kind of roofing is not a minor item either.

Just so you know, the fridge is the single most expensive item in any RV. If you need a replacement or another cooling plant for it you are looking in excess of $1500 for a cooling plant alone most likely. You can figure a bit less for a replacement AC unit if there is one on the rig.

You also don't know if the water tank, grey and black tanks are good. Those are kind of important too.

Really I'd run away from this. I understand that you are looking for a really inexpensive RV but I think you would be money ahead if you waited for something in better condition. Buying this is very very likely to be a huge money pit in order to get it in a usable condition.
