Almost ready

I haven't poasted much but I read this forum a lot. We have sold our house and our new DRV should be here the first week in March! Can't wait! I need some advice on a hitch, we just bought a new Ford F-350. The DRV that we ordered has a GVWR of 21,000 lbs. any advice on which hitch to install? I have been looking at a B&W Compnion. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Tracy

Have either of you checked with B&W to see what the difference is between the Ram and the Ford hitches to give the Ram hitch the higher rating?

I've got a 2011 F350 Super Duty Dually with the Ford under bed prep package. I got the Reese 26.5K Elite Series hitch. With 26.5K of capacity, it will do all you want. I picked it up locally and the local dealer matched the Amazon and etrailer.com pricing. It just drops in with little work on your part.

I would not hesitate using the B&W hitch. Just compare it to the REESE 25K hitch designed for the ford puck system. I would trust the B&W with a lower rating.

The reason B&W rates the ford hitch lower than the RAM is because of the footprint of the RAM's base is MUCH larger. The head of the hitch is the same.

For once, I agree with Cummins--I have been towing 17.4k with a 16k B&W hitch for several years, no sign of abnormal wear. I believe they are seriously under-rated.
Call B&W and see what they have to say.

I have the Pullrite 24k hitch. Easy install and secure hitching.

To avoid chucking get a Trailer Saver FTW.
