Help With Truck Weights, Please.

Good day, All.

For those of you with Ford F350's and F450's, could you give me an idea of what your particular truck weighs when fully loaded? I would imagine that many would be interested in ACTUAL GVWR ratings.

Since one does not want to put too much trust in information in brochures (and especially from salesmen), your answers would be greatly appreciated.

It is not necessary that I know the passenger weights because everyone interested can simply add in their own weights. However, if you have tools or other items in your truck, an approximate weight for the extra items would be helpful.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Terry

I just looked through some of the weigh sheets I have for Ford F 450 trucks and have a large range of actual truck weights. On the low side 8,950lbs up to 10,300lbs. This was without the trailer attached. I don't show what people were carrying in the truck or box, or if the truck has an after market box on it. Size of hitch, added fuel tanks or fire wood, generator, leveling blocks all change the numbers. Also it seems different years might make a difference. What the GVWR was also ran from low of 14,500lbs to a high of 17,950lbs. So I think your going to have to actually look at the door tag on any truck your thinking of purchasing to make sure you got the 'right' number for your situation. Hope this gives you some information that might be useful.

Ford truck weight

I have a 2007 F350 DRW 4x4, and have an actual loaded weight of 8940lbs--what I had in there at the time I don't remember, except it probably had 400+lbs diesel in the extra tank, + wife, 2 small dogs and some firewood. 8940 with a 13000 gvw leaves me 4060 lbs for a 4200 lb pin weight. This has worked fine for 2+ years, but miles are piling up (92K) and I am currently looking for a 450 that I can afford. There is an option pkg with the 350s now (Tow Boss+Monobeam Wide Track) that increases tow capacity, but not carrying capacity.
The 08/09 Fords have a more powerful engine, and will change again in the 2010 year run sometime to a 6.7L, due to emissions standards once again. So far, only 2 injectors replaced and a small oil leak--all warranty.
I think all the mgfs are making good vehicles, but Ford leads with the 450 if you want to keep a standard pickup configuration.

I have the 2008 F450 dually with the 6.4 diesel and 4 WD. Had it weighed last spring at the Amana rally.

Truck front axle = 5,475 lbs

Truck rear axle = 4,825 lbs

Total truck weight = 10,300 lbs

I have an auxiliary fuel tank that holds 52 gals plus the primary tank which holds 38 gals, both were full at weigh in (about 640 lbs). In addition I have the Hensley Trailsaver air hitch which weighs about 350 lbs.

Hope this info helps.
