Inverter switch question

First what position should my inverter switch be in when hooked to shore power the switch itself is unmarked and not labeled. Second when should it be used. We always use shore power so i havent paid it much mind until the campground lost power.

I appreciate it.

Unsure how your inverter is wired up--most are set just to run the residential refrigerator. Do you have a res fridge? If so, that is most of what it is there for. Are there any 120volt outlets that have power when not on shore power and the inverter is on?
What size is the inverter? Do you have the manual for it, or check for one online?
Joe
Edit: Looking closer at the switch--does the LED light up in either position? Should be on if inverter is on. And, keep in mind, it takes some power from the batteries just to run the inverter itself...
